Lily′s Medical Fund

OUR AMAZING RESCUE, LILY STILL NEEDS MEDICAL PROCEDURES
When Lily was rescued, we never thought she would have so many injuries.  We believe that she was thrown from a moving car and was badly hurt, but the amount of damage was a huge surprise.  She’s under gone several surgeries since Sept 7, 2017.  The first surgery was $6,155. Lily had surgery to repair her back left leg (see X-ray below) and to repair her badly damaged ulna on her right front leg.

The laundry list of broken bones does not stop there! The X-rays that followed gave us a better understanding of all of Lily’s injuries and confirmed that her broken legs were healing properly. We found that both of her hips and femurs were broken and have already started to heal on there own. Luckily, they are not in that bad of shape. This little three-pounder is one fighter! She should not be able to walk or sit but she does:) fi

There are people who would have done nothing for Lily, figuring that she was too badly injured to help. WE couldn’t imagine not providing medical care when she keeps bouncing back and getting better.   AIF is committed to Lily and with your help, we won’t let her down.

We are so thrilled that Lily got adopted by a wonderful family with a little boy who loves her so much.  She’s a lucky girl to have her forever home and forever family, yet she still needs one more big surgery for her hips.  This next surgery will happen in the next month and that surgery amount will be around $5000.

Many people have been very generous in their donations for Lily, but we still are in need of funds.  Thank goodness for Care Credit, but the balance on the card is still huge and mounting.

All donations are needed and SO appreciated. You can call ASG directly 818 244-7977 and speak to Jennifer Caruso the office manager make a donation or a donation at the link on this post.

Come on man, it’s REPO

In case you hadn’t heard, our mascot REPO had a pretty scary week and we thought we would lose him.  He passed out twice and had blood in his stool.  All horrible symptoms for a senior dog. He was rushed to the Vet where they did an ultrasound and discovered a mass in his stomach.  A decision had to be made on whether to continue or assume it was cancer and do no more medical treatment.  Luckily, we decided to do a few more tests.  He had an EKG to see if his old heart could take being knocked out, he was ok to proceed.  He had a blood transfusion and few nights at the hospital and then the endoscopy to get a biopsy of the mass.  What they pulled from the procedure, was a piece that looked like black masking tape.  How it got there, we don’t know but knowing Min Pins, it had to involve their obsession with food.  The results came back that there was no cancer, instead severe inflammatory bowel disease.  This is an autoimmune disease that keep his intestines from absorbing nutrients from his food.  REPO will be treated for that.  We are so glad we proceeded with these tests to find out what was wrong.   Maybe that’s the lesson learned here.  You really don’t know what something is until you do test and once you find out you can make a decision.  REPO’s adventure at the vet cost more than $5000, sheesh!!!!!  We are asking for donations for our medical fund for REPO.  AIF does not let our animals suffer and we can’t continue to do this without our friends’ generosity.   Any amount helps, really, $5, $10, $50 all adds up.  Thank you for your love and support.
